Getting a grasp on adventure

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

Here’s the thing; if you’re looking for a career, you’re looking for the wrong thing! What you should be looking for is something that makes you excited to get out of bed in the morning. A way to continuously better yourself, learn and continue to grow. You should always be looking for your next adventure! Certainly, that may take the form of something that turns into a career. Or it may not. Maybe what you’re looking for is to start your own business or a new project that excites you. Maybe it's time to change your career path because all of the sudden, you realize: Yes, I'm a general manager, but, no, I don't want that career. If you ignore this advice, you may become part of the statistic that has surged over the past decade. You will become someone who changes jobs an average of every 1.5 years, without a promotion and, more importantly, without being happy. By tying yourself into a career, you’re missing out on the most important part of your journey: the people you meet along that journey. Most importantly, you're closing your eyes and mind to opportunities. My career path is an example. I’ve designed my life and my career because I don’t fit in with what is currently described as such in the marketplace. So I take on projects and clients where I can use my skill set to the best, while enjoying the variation, the new challenges and the possibility to work all over the world and never suffer from routine! I’m ensured every day is an adventure, every project is a learning opportunity. I only work with people who genuinely intrigue me and I thoroughly enjoy the journey. If you’d like to discuss how you can do the same, contact me, so we can work together on your new adventure!
